First Stabilizing Labs

Cy returned after a week of declining numbers to find his first stabilizing lab results. His new norm.

While there is still some work to be done particularly with his high phosphorus levels, we’re a little relieved that creatinine and BUN are better.

We also asked about any lingering infections from the new record we got from Mexico since his last visit. Vet checked again for any infections and low platelets, everything normal. If the tick-borne disease did cause CKD the damage was done. We still have yet to receive any labs showing his treatment results in Mexico.

We’re continuing his fluids (150 ml 2x/day), Pepcid (20 mg 2x/day) and diet. We’re adding a phosphorous binder, which I ordered last week and am still waiting to arrive in the mail, and Answer’s Pet Food semi-fermented goat milk, which I have yet to give to him as of today.

Cy is in good spirits, extra bratty, more vocal about what he wants (mostly when playing) and eating a lot better. His stomach gurgling has quieted down with the occasion grumble at night. And with me getting better at administering his fluids, he’s been quite calm during the process.
